Greenfield Arts are continuing to inspire creativity through their varied arts programme, offering a unique experience for all who visit and participate.

The facility has been open for twenty-two years and during that time there have been over 260 exhibitions, events and activities and projects for the local and wider community.  Their strategic alliance with Greenfield Community College has given students continual access to creative learning opportunities supporting their academic and personal development and a space to showcase and exhibit their own work.

The Greenfield Gallery has attracted renowned artists such as Norman Cornish MBE, who’s exhibits over the years have inspired others and have brought visitors from far and wide.  Turner Prize Winner (Lubain Himid) also supported an exhibition by artists Richard Bliss and William Titley. Lubain highly praised the arts centre and Greenfield Arts as an organisation on her visit for its’ community engagement and forward-looking approach.  Up-and-coming and local artists have been able to exhibit and sell their artwork in the unique space and take advantage of a platform to launch their career.

Over 600,000 people have engaged with Greenfield Arts through the co-created community led projects, events and activities.  Greenfield Arts run regular creative sessions and works with and supports 64 artists on average each year.

Our summer gallery programme includes a range of exciting collections.  Our current exhibition by Ann Thornton, Form and Colour, is a vibrant exhibition that showcases Ann’s artwork and her interest in natural structural forms inspired by the countryside.  Ann has exhibited widely.  The exhibition runs until Wednesday 22 June and should not be missed.

Coming soon are exhibitions by students at Greenfield Community College and Life Through a Lens by Darlington Association of Photographers.  Greenfield Arts are thrilled to support such a diverse and dynamic programme.  To find out more visit or contact our friendly team on 01325 379048.
