Hello Year 6, My name is Mrs Lumsdon and for the last 11 years my role in school has been SENDCO (special educational needs and disabilities co-ordinator). I also coordinate and support children/young people that are looked after (CLA).
At Greenfield Community College we recognise that transition can be difficult for a child/young person with SEND as well as their family and we take steps to ensure that any transition is as smooth as possible.
As part of our transition process, local primary schools provide additional information which enables us to support students who would benefit from enhanced transition. I will also be part of the final Year 6 annual review meetings where students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and complex SEN support plans are invited to attend.
I am available to answer any questions and ease any worries or concerns that students and/or parents/carers may have during this transition period.
