The latest Catch up receipt was 2020. For 2018 – 2019, we received £15,748 of funding for Year 7 Catch Up.

Students who enter below age related expectations receive interventions appropriate to their needs. Some are taught in a very small ‘nurture group’ with additional support in Year 7 for all subjects including English and Mathematics.

To support development in English, programmes such as IDL are used in 1:1 and small group Intervention sessions during Time 4 Success. We have also begun to use Docs Plus with Year 7 students this year to support the development of independent writing.

In Mathematics, we use question level analysis from the KS2 SATS along with areas of weakness identified from baseline testing in mathematics to ensure the correct provision.

Students receive one or more of the following interventions:

  • 1:1 Numeracy Catch up with a maths specialist.
  • Numeracy Catch up through Maths Watch, Method Maths and/or Numeracy workout.
  • Students who enter with scores below 100 in English and/or Maths are tracked at each data capture and individual interventions are identified in co-operation with the lead for Transition.
