Compliments, Feedback and Complaints

Compliments are always gratefully received and can be passed on either directly to staff and the SENCO, or formally recorded via our regular questionnaires to parents or in the form of a letter to the Head Teacher.  These positive comments will be published on this area of our school website.

We are always seeking to improve on the quality of education we provide for children with SEND and are keen to hear from parents about their child’s experience. We would also like your views about the content of our SEND Information Report.

We hope that complaints about our SEND provision will be rare, however, if there should be a concern, please contact school in the first instance. If we cannot resolve it, we will follow the procedures set out in our Complaints Policy.

The best way to contact Colin Fowler and Lisa Lumsdon, the SENCOs is by e mail:

colin.fowler@greenfieldschool.net             (Aycliffe Campus)

lisa.lumsdon@greenfieldschool.net           (Sunnydale Campus)

Alternatively you can phone:

Aycliffe Campus                 01325 300 378

Sunnydale Campus             01388 772 526

If you are not satisfied with a decision or with what is happening for your child's special educational needs and or disabilities then your first point of contact is the relevant campus SENCO. Explain your concerns to him/her first. If you are not satisfied that your concern has been addressed, speak to our Head of School, Christine Stonehouse or Executive Head teacher, David Priestley.

The Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice, and Support Service (SEND IASS) ~ formerly Durham Parent Partnership Service, also provides independent information and advice to parents/carers to help resolve differences. The service also provides confidential, impartial support and advice for parents, carers, children and young people up to the age of 25 in relation to special educational needs and disability.
