17 Compliments, Feedback and Complaints

Compliments are gratefully received and can be passed on either directly to staff and the appropriate campus SENCo, or formally recorded via our regular questionnaires to parents or in the form of a letter to the Head Teacher. These positive comments will be published on this area of our school website.

We are always seeking to improve the quality of education we provide for children with SEND and are keen to hear from parents/carers about their child's experience. We would also like your views about the content of our SEND Information Report.

We hope that complaints about our SEND provision will be rare, however, if there should be a concern, please contact the school in the first instance. If we cannot resolve it, we will follow the procedures set out in our Dealing with School Complaints Policy.

The campus SENCo's can be contacted as follows:

Aycliffe site ~ Patricia Etherington on tricia.etherington@greenfieldschool.net

Shildon site ~ Lisa Lumsdon on lisa.lumsdon@greenfieldschool.net

or call the school on 01325 300 378

If you are not satisfied with a decision or with what is happening for your child's Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities, speak to our Acting Head of School, Mr. Dixon or Executive Head Teacher, Mr. Priestley.

The Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice and Support Service (SEND IASS) - formerly Durham Parent Partnership Service, also provides independent information and advice to parents/carers to help solve differences. The service also provides confidential, impartial support and advice for parents, carers, children and young people up to the age of 25 in relation to special educational needs and disability.
