Professional Break Dancer visits Greenfield!

On Wednesday 15th January Joe Cooper, a professional break dancer from Wreckonize dance company, came to Greenfield Community College to work with Greenfield's boys only break dance crew, ICEL8. The Greenfield group will be working with Joe over a period of time in preparation for the Dance Festival held at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre on March 25th.

This is just one of the many great opportunities created by visiting arts and sports professionals who have worked, both in person and via Skype, with Greenfield in recent months and who have supported the great teaching that is happening across the school.
Thank you to Joe for joining us, and to Mrs Etherington for arranging this great opportunity for our students - watch this space for ICEL8!

Tin Arts visit Greenfield!

On Wednesday the 15th of January Tin Arts came to Greenfield Community College to deliver dance workshops to Year 9 and 10 GCSE Dance classes. The aim of the workshops was to inform the students of the opportunity to join Youth Dance Group “Twisted,” which is run by Tin Arts.

The group are based in Durham and perform all over the North East. This is a fantastic opportunity for Greenfield pupils to get involved in this established and quality group. The students thoroughly enjoyed the workshop, showing confidence in their existing dance skills and the new ideas shown to them. They showed a lot of potential for becoming a part of the Twisted Youth Dance Company; we look forward to seeing future performances!
