Year 11 students from Greenfield Community College are beginning the exam season equipped with additional confidence and skills following a valuable period of preparation.

Students have shown commitment and effort working a longer day during a fourteen-week Period 6 revision programme and are now reaping the benefits as they reach an important phase in their studies.

Great teaching is motivating young people to do even better by accessing masterclasses, booster revision sessions and valuable staff and parental support.   Which have all played an important role in recent weeks.Staff and students are looking forward to celebrating another year of improvement following a range of outstanding results last year.

Greenfield, a Specialist Arts and Science School have had much to boast about this year and are delighted to have achieved the prestigious Platinum Artsmark Award. Artsmark is the creative quality standard for schools, accredited by Arts Council England and the platinum status awarded is a mark of the exceptional development in arts, culture and creativity achieved across the curriculum, giving students opportunities to develop their learning skills.

Year 11 students have also had the benefit of a valuable careers programme. Greenfield was one of only 13 secondary schools in the country to pilot the Gatsby Benchmark Scheme which is now provided to all secondary schools as best practice.  The scheme addresses the career needs of every student and the importance of workplace connections, apprenticeships and market changes, highlighting the importance of STEM subjects and tailoring the needs of each student.

David Priestley, Executive Headteacher is proud of the many achievements of staff and students. “Our commitment to a culture of continuous self-improvement has seen significant progress across our school.  We are very proud of our students and our team of staff”.
