Greenfield Leavers 2014

posted 14 Jul 2014, 01:35 by Unknown user

It was with real sadness that the staff from Greenfield Community College bid farewell to the class of 2014 on Monday. After 5 years full of commitment, enthusiasm and effort the year 11 students finished their exams and left the school for the very last time.

As well as the annual year 11 photograph and the ceremonial signing of shirts, the year group were addressed by headteacher David Priestley who praised their continued effort. Stuart Dixon, Assistant Headteacher, then guided the cohort through an assembly of celebration with videos and photographs, highlighting memorable times throughout their secondary education.

Following the class of 2013 and their record GCSE results was never going to be an easy task but this cohort have given themselves every possible chance to break records and achieve outstanding personal sets of qualifications. The ability of the year group has already been demonstrated with many students having completed their GCSE English; 100% reaching their target and 62% exceeding it, with 30% achieving an A*/A grade.

There were tears all around as the assembly came to an end and the strawberries and cream had all but disappeared. It’s not all over for the group as we look forward to the prom next week to celebrate together their fantastic achievements. Good luck class of 2014, we are proud of you!
