The WECAN group meet regularly at Greenfield Community College to support parents and students and enjoy a range of events and activities.

The group have recently explored cyber safety which was assisted by Cyber Harm Reduction Officer, Mrs Katie Cain from the Digital Investigations and Intelligence unit at Durham Constabulary.

In the session the group were given the opportunity to explore current cyber safety issues and discuss social media settings and how everyone can assist in making the internet a safer tool to use.

This is just one of many opportunities that the group get involved in with social outings and other valuable sessions running throughout the term. If you think you would be interested in attending one of these sessions, why not join our friendly group on a Thursday afternoon 12:45 – 15:00 at Greenfield Community College, Shildon Site.

The group has also just received National Lottery funding!  Thank you to everyone who plays The National Lottery for the support which will ensure the continuation of activities in the future.  To find out more about the group please contact Nicola Best at Greenfield Community College on 01325 300378.
