February Half Term 2016

posted 8 Mar 2016, 08:49 by Sophie Lewis
The February half term holidays were a buzz of activity at Greenfield Arts with Family Cooking, our usual crafty workshop, this time we jazzed up our foyer space and lastly we had some crazy science experiments.

Our young people made some wonderful hot air balloon designs for our foyer space with artist Adam Bligh. They decided to look forward to the new spring term and inspire everyone to reach high and beyond their dreams. It is a lovely use of the space and highlights the creativity of our young community.

Science Mission Impossible was a great session led by students from Durham University. Participants took part in crazy experiments racing with liquid to see what substances make liquid move quicker; they ran around as atoms and molecules do, learning how substances lock together and even tested a combination of substances, which exploded to see who could get it highest in the air.

Family Cooking was full to the brim with young people and their parents learning new skills in the kitchen. This is always a great activity as it is something families can take home and develop further.

Easter Holiday activities now available so keep your eyes peeled for information on our website and local press.
