Cutting Loose Project at Greenfield!

posted 10 Jun 2014, 01:35 by Unknown user

Greenfield Community College are pleased to be a part of the fantastic “Cutting Loose” project, returning to Aycliffe in 2014 after a fantastic event in 2012.

This year our students will be involved in a number of ways, including developing work for the performance, marketing, and performing!

A group of Year 9 COPE students are volunteering as part of the marketing team, and have so far visited Newton Aycliffe town centre to record for the living archive with sound artist Nick, and to spread the word about the project. They will be working with Greenfield Arts staff over the next few weeks to help promote Cutting Loose!

Greenfield’s STEM Club has been working with Puppet Designer Molly to design the focus of the event – the grumpy King of the Faeries. The Primary technology club is designing costumes for the Primary School performers, and a Year 9 group of Textiles students are working with visual artist Anna Cole to create flags for the event.

The Performing Arts department at Greenfield are playing a very important role – Subject Leader for Performing Arts Mrs Dixon is the choreographer for the project, and is working with local Primary schools on their part of the performance. In addition two groups of Greenfield students will be performing at the event.

The fantastic Cutting Loose project has been developed and managed by Greenfield Arts, and funded by GAMP AAP, Great Aycliffe Town Council, Livin, East Durham Trust and Greenfield Arts.

Join us in supporting our Greenfield students on Tuesday 15th July at 6pm, Boating Lake (West Park) Newton Aycliffe! For more information visit
